Richard S. Koblentz, Esq. Recipient of the William K. Thomas Professionalism Award

Richard Koblentz licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio since 1975 has dedicated a large portion of his practice to enhancing the legal profession and representing its members. Most recently, Richard was awarded the William K. Thomas Professionalism Award by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association which will be presented to him on June 12, 2024 at a 4 p.m. program.

The award is given to one (1) recipient each year based upon nominations and an evaluation of criteria put forth by the CMBA Professionalism Committee. The Professionalism Award recognizes a member of the Ohio Bar (Judges or Lawyers) who:

  1. Embody the Character Traits of Judge William K. Thomas such as civility, creativity, decency, or a catalyst for change;
  2. Have a reputation in the community for holding the highest ethical standards and professionalism in dealing with members of the public and members of the bar;
  3. Advocate for the justice system and the legal profession through volunteerism and public service.

Richard embodies all of the above, having dedicated his time to the Cleveland Marshall College of Law, Law Alumni Association, the ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County and the Cleveland Baseball Federation, seeking to provide opportunities and fields to Northeast Ohio youth.

Richard, still engaging in the practice of law for almost 50 years, continues to provide exemplary service to his clients, members of the bar and the members of the public. Richard is, and has been known for his defense of licensed professionals who are subject to the grievance/complaint process with a bar association of the Ohio Office of Disciplinary Counsel.

If you would like to attend the CMBA Event honoring Richard and other members of our profession, you can register on the CMBA’s website.

It is a great event fundraising for the CMBA and its efforts in Northeast Ohio, and to honor practitioners who have dedicated their practice to the betterment of society.
