Susannah Competes with CSU Moot Court Team at Mardi Gras Invitational
Over this past weekend, Susannah, our law clerk and a 3L at Cleveland State University, traveled with her Moot Court Team, Dennis Robinson (3L), and Matthew Corrigan (3L), to the Mardi Gras Invitational hosted by Tulane University. The team had the opportunity to argue in the Federal Courthouse for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. The national tournament is the only moot court appellate competition focusing on contemporary legal problems in the sports industry.
This year’s problem mirrored the recent Sunday Ticket litigation in the Southern District of California which involved a dispute over the National Football League’s exclusive vertical distribution agreement of out-of-market football games.
When asked about the experience Susannah said
“Experiences like these have made my legal education both informative and fun. Being on the Moot Court team helped to build my ability to advocate and overall confidence in my abilities. I truly appreciate the work of my team and coaches and the continued support from everyone at Koblentz, Penvose, and Froning in every step of my legal education.”
Congratulations to the team on two great days of competition and we look forward to all of your future accomplishments as you enter into the legal profession this coming fall!
